HOW TO PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER...

Leith and Mary are the only "Teckies" to call when you have a problem.  To prevent the problems from occurring in the first place, check out some of our pointers.

KEEP YOUR COMPUTER HEALTHY! 

• Get a reliable Virus Protection, but most importantly---UPDATE IT!!!

• Install a Surge Protector to protect your computer from power outages.  No, a power strip is not a Surge Protector.

• If you have valuable information on your computer, don't just let anyone use your computer.

• Don't download everything that you see from the Web.  Free, is not always Free!

• Never give your personal information to anyone requesting it in an email.  Even if the information says that it is from your bank, don't do it!  Your bank will never email you requesting information.  This is all a big scam.

• Don't download or open any files from someone you don't know. Also be very, very, leery even if it is something that has been forwarded to you by someone your know and trust.

• Back-up your files on a regular basis.  If you do get a virus, at least you can recover your files from your back-up.
